Overview

As per the mandate of Government of India under company act 2013, Kalyani Transmission Technology spends 2% of its net profit in CSR activities. Kalyani Transmission Technology Management wanted to utilize this CSR fund in activities which actually make a positive difference in society and not just comply to the statutory requirements. With the purpose of contributing to society we initiated two CSR projects in 2019-20, Project Vidya and E-Toilet Project. Apart from these 2 flagship project we conduct many CSR activities throughout the year.

Mission

To promotegirl child for education and skill development through various initiative.

Vision

We will aim to make 50 girl students selected every year, capable for being self-sustainable by imparting knowledge and skills within 6 years of their selection.

We will provide 40 e-toilets within 2 years, to needy schools to encourage girl students to continue the education.

We will support educational institutions to meet their basic needs like infrastructure development, Skill development etc.

Purpose

Contributing to the society is one of the values of Kalyani Transmission Technology. We will ensure that all our actions are towards being “Good Corporate Citizen”. We will strive to work in the area of the girl child education and provide opportunity and support for development.

CSR INITIATIVES

Project Vidya – For Girls Education

Kalyani Transmission Technology Management believes in women empowerment and understand the situation of girls in a typical Indian family where very few resources are available for them. We suggested adopting 50 girl students from poor financial background and supporting them for higher education till graduation. Accordingly  Project Vidya was initiated and in last 2 years we have selected total 120 girls from poor economic background. This project aims to make them independent, able, empowered women who in future could be a great contributing and influencing factor for economic and social development of this country.

We have not only distributed the scholarship but also providing life skill trainings to them and also mentoring them throughout the year through phone calls, home visits and personal counselling sessions.

Criteria for Selection is as below:

  • Any girl student appeared for SSC Board Examination in current academic year
  • Marks 80% and above
  • Less than 1.5 lacs yearly income of family
  • Girls having excellent sports records
  • Physically challenged  Students

E-Toilet Project

In correlation with Project Vidya and analysis of girls students data studying in schools specially after class 7th, Kalyani Transmission Technology initiated the project to improve sanitation facilities for girl students at schools. E-Toilet project has been started with a pledge that each child should get a proper sanitation facility at school and unavailability of toilet at school should not be the reason behind any girl dropping out from school. Kalyani Transmission Technology Management also wanted to ensure that toilets build at school should be self-sustainable and should need minimum human intervention for cleaning. To achieve this objective Kalyani Transmission Technology partnered with Kalyani Cleantech, which manufactures E-Toilet. E-Toilets means electronically managed toilets. These toilets units have sensor based system for automatic flushing and cleaning. Till now Kalyani Transmission Technology has donated 13 Nos. of e-Toilet units at schools situated near Kalyani Transmission Technology plant locations of Khed, Mundhwa, Jejuri, Chakan, and Ranjangaon.

Other Educational Support

Apart from these 2 projects Kalyani Transmission Technology also supports some educational institutions for their infrastructure building or educational aids to students. During such an event Mr. Ravi Nagarkar also paid visit to Jeevanvardhini Matimand Vidyalay where specially abled children receive education and other supports. Kalyani Transmission Technology has also donated stationary and school bags based on the requirement of the institution.

During difficult timings of Covid-19, Kalyani Transmission Technology has provided support for 50 students, to Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti Pune.

Employee Volunteer Activities

Contributing to the society is obe of the core value of Kalyani Transmission Technology and its employees follow this value in their professional and personal lives, Kalyani Transmission Technology employees also volunteer in many social activities at personal level including visits and donations to many social institutions like orphanages, old age home etc, and volunteering in animal welfare organization. Some employees celebrate their children’s birthday at special homes like orphanage or hostel for destitute children.

Joy of Giving

This is a voluntary activities started by Kalyani Transmission Technology employees to help needy organizations in the difficult timing of Covid-19. Many institutions did not receive donations from their regular sources due to pandemic situation. Kalyani Transmission Technology employees collected a handsome Amount of Rs 2 Lacs 84 Thousands through voluntary employee contribution under the initiative of ‘Joy of Giving’. This amount has been distributed to following NGOs.

Other CSR Activities

  • Each Year Kalyani Transmission Technology takes part in cleanliness activity during Swachhata Week between 2nd Oct to 9th
  • This year Kalyani Transmission Technology has also planted 210 trees with the help of Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti Pune.
  • Donated Rs. 4.5 Lakh for Cold storage and packing unit construction to Purandar Natural Shetkari Gat, a collective farming group at Purandar.
  • Donated Rs 1.5 Lakh to Samajik Vikas Kendra Mumbai to support the construction of Old age home where 100 Old age people are living currently.

SAMPARC Children’s Home

The project is a licensed children’s home under Department of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra. We donated one month grocery to boys of SAMPARC Balgram orphanage at Shel Pimplegaon. Mr. Anant Chincholkar, Mr. Rajesh Patil and Mr. Rohit Kulkarni were present at the event. We are looking forward to collaborate with them on regular basis and plan some employee engagement activates as well.

  • All the children are recommended through Child Welfare Committee
  • Total 50 boys, Age group 6-18 years
